I woke up in the middle of the night from an amazing dream. I wanted to share the meaning behind my dream.
I am suffering from rotator cuff tendonitis. For those of you who have experienced this, you know it can be very painful to make certain movements. Sleep is one of the hardest “activities” to engage in without pain. Every single time I roll over one direction or the other, the pain can be excruciating.
You might wonder why I am sharing these personal pains with you… I am getting to that. The dream: as I was sleeping and experiencing my usual nighttime pain, I dreamt that a stranger walking along a street where I was standing saw my pain very clearly. The stranger stopped dead in her tracks and looked at me with compassionate eyes, those that you just know come from a place of true care and concern for another human being. She spoke to me and said, “you look like you could use a hug…would it be ok for me to hug you.” Of course, I was concerned that she would hug the achy shoulder at first, but, through intuitive guidance, she hugged me in the opposite way, as to avoid the shoulder altogether.
Shortly after this beautiful embrace, I woke up and the dream was clear as day. As I lay in bed thinking about it, it dawned on me how powerful a hug is in our lives, either from a stranger or someone we know. This dream seemed so real and so powerful in my life that I felt truly impacted to share my thoughts with you. The value of a hug cannot be underestimated. Every hug we offer to another person is a powerful source of energy and light. Each hug that we are offered has the potential to provide us with the same energy and light.
How can you engage in more of these exchanges in your life? How can you offer more energy and light to another human being, perhaps a child, through a hug? Don’t underestimate the power of this gesture. It is much more significant than you might think.
